Udupi: Special Reservation for Savita Community on Anvil—Sadananda Gowda

Udupi, Oct 14: Pressure is being put on the state government to provide special reservation to the Savita community, said D V Sadananda Gowda, BJP state president, on Sunday October 12.
 
Gowda was speaking after unveiling a large Parashurama idol, at Parashu Srusti Maitri temple, Kuthyar, near Shirva, on Sunday. The community has been awarded 2 A status so far, and the state government will be asked to change it to 1 A, thereby enabling the community to avail special reservations under the category, he added.



 
Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary said that political views are not advised on religion. Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon inaugurated the newly-built library and computer room.
 
Shikaripura municipal councilor Venkatesh, Kuthyar gram panchayat president Nithyanand Shetty, temple trustee Shambudas, Satish Kacchur, Ravindra Maroli, and Shivakumar Bangalore were present. Shambudas welcomed the gathering while Kuthyar Prasad Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
