B'lore: 'Let Deshpande Contest against Asnotikar' - Dhananjay Kumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Oct 13: "If the Congress feels that both Vasant Asnotikar and his mother Shubhalatha Asnotikar are guilty of wrong-doings, why did they hand-pick them for MLA and MLC seat respectively?," questioned BJP spokesman V Dhanajay Kumar.

Speaking at a press conference here recently, he challenged the Congress to field R V Deshpande against Asnotikar for Karwar assembly seat, as the party claims that Deshpande wields enormous influence in Uttara Kannada district. He further asked the Congressmen to come out with documentary proof if any, in favour of their allegations against Asnotikar.

He reiterated that Rajeev Shetty had revealed the name of Deshpande and not of Asnotikar, when he was subjected to narco-analysis test, relating to the murder of Dileep Arjun Nayak. As regards the Congress claim that some properties were not declared in the affidavit filed by Asnotikar, he quipped, "How can Asnotikar claim ownership for the properties, relating to which, cases contradicting his ownership are pending in courts and the ownership issue is yet to be decided? We hope, the Congress leaders will stop levelling baseless charges."
