Mangalore, Oct 13: A workshop on ‘Contribution of religious stage by Shri Kshetra’ was inaugurated at SDM College in the city, on Saturday October 11 to mark the 60th birthday celebrations of Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmastala Dharmadikari Rajashri.

Justice N Kumar of the state high court said that the whole world was dependent on religion. The base of tradition, and culture is religion. Hence, nothing is superior to religion, he said. 

Dhrarmastala is not only a religious place, but has grown into an institution providing service in many fields, said Justice Kumar. Showering blessings, Sri Veereshananda Swami of Tumkur Sri Ramakrishna Veereshananda hermitage said that the word ‘religion’ was a confusing one in the country. People forget that the code of life itself is religion. Even science cannot cure people’s internal wickedness, only religion can, he stressed.. 

Vice-president of Ujire SME Society, Prof S Prabhakar, presided over the function. Litterateur Dr Hampa Nagarajayya, Prof Odambadithaya, Dr M Prabhakar Joshi, Prof G V Joshi, and MLC Dr S R Leela were present. Dr B K Ravindra, principal, SDM Law College, welcomed the gathering. Prof Vidyashankar proposed the vote of thanks.
