Udupi, Oct 10:
The ‘shobhayatra’ of the idol of Lord Ganesh was held on Thursday October 9, at the Bala Ganesh temple, located at Padubidri, near here. The idol had been installed on Ganesh Chaturthi, last month.

The procession lasted for almost three kms and culminated at the Arabian Sea, with thousands of devotees joining in. The idol was finally immersed in the sea. Traditional musicians added a distinct coastal flavour to the celebrations and colourful, ‘hulivesha’ performers enthralled the viewers. Heavy security was provided all along the route.
