Karwar, Oct 10: Based on a complaint, the policemen of Gokarn arrested a person named Rajagopal Adi, working president of Anti-temple Transfer Action Committee, on Thursday October 9.

A complaint was filed against a person named Ravi Adi, alleging that he had tried to immolate Gurumurthy, working in the temple, and Gokarn panchayat member shekhar Naik, by sprinkling petrol on them on Wednesday October 8.  Police sources said, that Rajgopal Adi, brother of the accused, was arrested on the charges of abetting the above act.

A total of 157 people filed objections in response to a release made by the Math, about the hereditory puja rights in the temple. Around 300 people including women and children protested in front of the temple till 3.30 am, against their refusal to give endorsement for the objections filed. They returned only after the Math authorities relented and gave them acknowledgements.

Adi however, told the reporters that this was a false case. He vowed to continue to fight, without getting bogged down by pressure tactics.
