Udupi: Trainee Policeman Commits Suicide in City Lodge

A trainee policeman was found dead in a city lodge on Thursday October 9. He is believed to have committed suicide.
 
The deceased, who was undergoing training at the district training school, has been identified as Janakraj (22), a resident of Kabbamahalli, Arasikere, in Hassan district. 
 
Janakraj is said to have left the school on the morning of Monday October 6, for a health check-up at KMC, Manipal. He checked-in at the lodge at 4.30 pm on Monday. The lodge staff was alarmed when Janakraj did not come out of the room and informed the city police.

On breaking open the room, they found his decomposed body lying on the floor and the contact number of his parents written on a piece of paper. His parents Shivanna and Jayamma have been informed and their arrival is awaited. The body will be handed over after postmortem. 
 
Circle inspector M G Hegde, and town sub-inspector Vasant Kumar, visited the lodge and registered a case.
