USA: Mangalorean Christians from Phoenix Celebrate Nativity Feast

USA, Oct 7: Nativity festival was celebrated by Mangalorean Christian community settled in Phoenix here, on September 13, 2008. Around 70 people, including 25 children were present for the celebrations.

The programme began with the singing of Konkani hymns “Moreak Hogollsiam" and "Sokkad Sanagta Melleam" with the showering of flowers, followed by cultural programmes presented by every family that took part in the programme, in addition to solo, group songs and skits. Food was prepared by individual families. It was a wonderful get-together and the food, comprised of 16 different vegetarian dishes.  The elders and the children alike enjoyed every minute of the proceedings and also the tasty food.
