M’lore: 'Greedy Ex-tahsildar to be Blamed for Bantwal Taluk Office Auction

Mangalore, Oct 6: Badilaguthu Vasantram Shetty has charged ex-tahsildar of Bantwal Krishna Poojary with being responsible for creating an embarrassing situation for the government, which is facing the ignominy of losing a property owned by it, in auction.

Shetty informed at a press conference that he had to go to court, as the government failed to pay the compensation for which he was eligible, for the lands he lost due to the Land Reforms Act.

"The then tahsildar Krishnappa Poojary demanded 25% of the amount due, by way of bribe. As I was not agreeable to pay the same, he made an endorsement in the government records, stating that all the dues were paid to me and that the government did not owe me anything. As a result, I had to approach the court," he explained.

What a shame ! Officers gracing public offices, bring disgrace to our own management system ! These are supposed to be qualified gentlemen who get a job whereas an ordinary man remains unemployed because of him being on that post ! For sure there will be no record of him asking for the bribe there may be defamation case but nobody will ask him why he wrote such a wrong comment in the records !
