Bangalore, Oct 5: After Tata bid adieu to Singroor in West Bengal, other governments including Karnataka are all set to woo the Nano manufacturing facility on to their territory. Dharwad is being pushed forward as a viable option by the administration.

The possibility has gained strength with a proposed visit by a team of officials of Tata Motors headed by managing director Ravikant, on the anvil to undertake feasibility studies. The team will also visit the Volvo truck and bus manufacturing facility at Tavarakere in Hosakote here, sources added.


Meanwhile, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has also confirmed the possibility of setting up the Nano factory at Dharwad. Two rounds of discussion have been held with Tata officials. The chief minister has said that one thousand acres of land and other infrastructural facilities will be provided to them, if they decide to shift the plant to Dharwad.
