CPM Begins 12-hour Bundh in Support of Tata Project

Singur, Oct 4:
A 12-hour bandh, called by the CPM in support of the Tata project, began here on Saturday morning even as those who had given their land willingly for Tata Motor's Nano car project continued their overnight blockade of Durgapur Expressway demanding re-opening of the plant.

Supporters of the bandh blocked the Howrah-Burdwan chord line at Kamarkundi railway station holding up trains.

Shops were closed and there was no traffic on Durgapur Expressway, which is beside the plant site.

Many of the overnight protesters were women and a large number of policemen were deployed to maintain peace.

Last night, the protesters had blocked the expressway, set ablaze tyres and raised slogans against those opposing the project.

The situation was tense but under control, police said.

she doesnt even know how much hardworking it takes in farms and what is the output of farms - Yashwant, USA. My friend from hard work only we get food to eat. From Industries, we may get money, Cars, Houses, Jobs etc. but not food. What we do with all these things if there is NO food available. At the moment we need more & more food because the population is growing. From where it will come if not from farms. When I said this I am not against industries because we need industries as well but not on the cost of Agricultural land and enviornment. If these farmers are compensated with money, it will go like flowing water. Then what they will do. You may say they can work in the industries, but not all of them.

This is such a pity for India, that leaders like Mamta Bannerjee leading in West Bengal. On the top of people following Mamta are so innocent and stupid. They dont know whats good for them, what is the right decision for them.

People are so illiterate and leaders like Mamta are exploiting them for getting popular. An average person can understand how big this project was, and how much revenue it would bring to WestBengal in long term. That revenue could be used in improving the life of these people. But NO NO... when leaders like Mamta are elected.. she doesnt even know how much hardworking it takes in farms and what is the output of farms.

But she wants these farmers to live same life for another century. She doesnt want these farmer's kids to improve and let them decide what career they want. She want them to be nothing but farmers... Wow its a big vote bank. There are so many countries, who developed so much because of good leaders. But India wow great leaders like Mamta. She is trying to save public interests... what a hypocracy... Just think about if you remove all the progress made by IT revolution, whats left ... Well people keep voting Mamta Bannerjee... and dash dash dash.
