Bangalore, Oct 3: Speaking at a press conference here on Friday October 2, ex-chief minister Kumaraswamy expressed his displeasure at the utterances and behaviour of some of the religious heads. "The Swamijis seem to have grown fond of their own castes," he commented.

He was responding to questions raised about an incident in which the Sirigere Swamiji took a legislator to task on the dais of a public function and the participation of Siddaganga Swamiji in the Dasara celebrations in Mysore.

"A few held protests against me in Tumkur, as I had spoken against some of the Swamijis. This is an effort aimed at wresting from me the right to speak, as a legislator. It is the duty of the assembly speaker to think on these developments, he said.

Kumaraswamy claimed that the government had extended additional aid to Suttur, Siddaganga and Sringeri Maths, when he was the chief minister. Comparatively, aid to Adichunchanagiri Math had been less, he revealed.
