High Alert in Tamil Nadu after Terror Threat to Temples

New Delhi, Sep 25: A high alert has been sounded in Tamil Nadu after a specific terror threat to major temples in the state, according to TV channel Times Now.

The Tamil Nadu ADGP said information on the security threat came from central intelligence agencies.

The alert was sounded after police received intelligence that the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba was planning strikes in the state

According to reports, specific terror threat was to the Madurai Meenakshi temple in Tamil Nadu.

A high level meeting was held between chief minister Karunanidhi and police officials on the security threat.

Security has been beefed up at major temples across the state.
