Excellent report of Mahalasa Temple. The history of the temple of Sri Mahalasa Narayani shows the attrocities done by the foreign looters portugese against the local hindu communities. Most of the locals were forcefully converted to christinity 300 years ago in the Kadamba Area. Many christians living in Mangalore, Uduppi, Savantwadi, Goa, Dharwad areas were once forced to convert to the Christian faith. Research in the UK universities have publications of the attrocities of hindus in the acquization of GOA by the Portugese. COngrats on the excellent photos of Mahalasa Narayani Devi. Thanks.
