Indian Student from Andhra Pradesh Shot Dead in US

Chicago, Sep 15: A medical student from Andhra Pradesh was shot dead in Chicago in the United States by an unidentified person, a senior police official said on Monday.

Soumya Reddy, a native of Muniyal village in Nirmal mandal of the district, was killed by the unidentified person in Chicago on Sunday, Adilabad district superintendent of police, Anil Kumar told PTI. "We have got information last night about the incident and we are in process of collecting details of the family of the victim," Kumar said.
After completing MBBS in Andhra Pradesh, Reddy had gone to the US to pursue an MS degree.

Reddy is the fourth student from Andhra Pradesh killed in the US since December last year. A Srinivas, a post-graduate medical student from Karimnagar was killed in March, A Kirankumar and K Chandrasekhar Reddy, both PhD students, were shot dead at Louisiana University in December 2007.
