Serial Blasts Rock Delhi; 18 dead

NEW DELHI, Sep 13: At least 20 people were killed and over 92 injured in a series of six explosions that rocked crowded marketplaces in the national capital almost at the same time on Saturday evening.

"Fourteen people were killed in the explosions and the toll could go up," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.

According to police 40 people were injured, while hospital sources said over 92 were admitted to various hospitals.

Police sources said the blasts took place at three places -- Karol Bagh, Connaught Place and Greater Kailash -- almost simultaneously at around 6:40 pm.

Indian Mujahideen militant outfit, believed to be a frontal organisation of banned SIMI, through a purported email, has claimed responsibility for the serial blasts.

The impact of the the blasts in Karol Bagh could be gauged by the fact that an auto was thrown up and got caught in the electrical wires.

In CP's Barakhamba Road, one of the bombs was suspected to be placed near Nirmal tower. The second blast took place near Gopal Das Bhavan and the third one in central park.

In the GK-I blast, two people were injured who were rushed to a nearby hospital. Eight to ten shops were damaged in the explosion that took place at around 6:40 pm. The bomb was suspectedly kept in a dustbin.

Terrorists should be hanged even on slightest suspicion and even if there is little evidence to prove their involvment. In the process some innocent terrorist suspects may lose their lives but it would work as a severe deterrent for potential terrorists. It is time we realised why and how innocent people should lose their lives in these bomb blasts. T

The terrorists are openly challenging the security agencies, Police and government of this country. All three of which are coward, helpless and pressing under there own weight. The real pain is born by the people of this country who are victim of such terror attacks, later the blame game starts. The fact is that the intelligence and security agencies are ailing, they don't have any tactics and they will never be able to catch the real culprits and masterminds...

Mr. Rajesh please dont talk as an uneducated person. You have no right ever to point out whole of the minority group for the incident. Firstly terrorists do not belong to any of one community. Secondly you think, UPA government will not take any action just to impress minorities. now listen, Why not this trick of cowardly act played by the party which you belong just to gain majority.

Until the presence of people like you who think one sided on each and everything, the chances are 100% for sure. The terrorists should be bared I agree, But what you people will call those who were responsible for the gujarat riots. Rajesh, dont forget while pointing your finger on any one that, the remaining are pointing towards you. Try to build brotherhood except of hatred among each others

Are we safe in this country? Do we need a useless government to rule ue? Do we need to pay tax for these traitors to enjoy? Do we need to pay tax for the terrorists to enjoy in jails? What kind of Govt. we have at the Centre?? Mr. Manmohan Singh should explain for whom he made Nuclear Deal when our People are getting killed in this manner?? Who will be benefitted from his Nuclear Deal when we don't have safety to come out of our homes? Shut your N-Deal & act tough on terrorism. We are not bothered about your deals, we are bothered about your deals on terrorism.

We need tough deal on Terrorism, it's really a shame when a country like Israel, Srilanka & even Pakistan killing terrorists why only in India????

India is a secular country. Everyone has their rights. Now this is the rights of Terrorist which was granted by UPA govt. UPA govt will not punish any terrorist, bcause it might damage their vote bank. Don't be surprise to see the Terrorist "Afzal Guru" may get ticket in upcoming election from UPA govt. Especially from Lallu and Mullu's party. In India we have very worst politics, those selfish politics will distroy whole India. What UPA has done so far to control these terrorist? Mr. Modi has informed directly to PM and HM on the future plans of terrists attacks in Delhi. Why no preventive action been taken? UPA should hold responsible for killing these innocent ppl.

What kind of country do we live? Where 80% of political partied don’t ask for strong action on terrorists. 60% of political parties prefer to keep quiet on terrorist attacks. Where 50% of political parties oppose any strong action action terrorists. Where 20% of population does not finds any problem with these bomb blasts 10% of population is infact happy with these bomb blasts. 40% of population hates its national language.

Where all states are way below in development as far as developed countries are concerned. However 80% of these states feel that they are highly develped and derive great pleasure in abusing other states. Executing a terrorist convicted by highest court of law is not possible becoz of political compulsions. Post of president and vice president is decided on the basis of caste gender n religion. Minority communalism is considered as secularism.

90% of population is dying to prove itself backward. A person no matter how rich is considered a dalit if he belongs to a particular caste. A person no matter how poor is considered developed if he belongs to a particular caste.

The people who masterminded this blast probably will get a direct entry to Heaven as they have done it in a month of festivals/fasting for various religions. And we have politicians like Lalu, Ram vilas paswan, Mulayam singh who want ban on SIMI to be removed, so that they can cling on to power. Shame on Madam's party for supporting these thugs silently.

I am sure that this govt will not take any step or enforce any strict law to curb this series of blast till the next general election.coz they have to impress the minorities of this country for their votes.the people of this country are watching all this.this will be the main reason for the downfall of the UPA govt.the govt is completely failed to protect the lives of the people.this is the worse govt i have seen in my lifetime failing in all the departments.we have a handicap prime minister who is a puppet in the hands of some good for nothin politicians

Terrorists have no religion. They are bunch of criminal they are the puppets in the hands of a country. Indian should react as reacted by the US declaring that, they will engage in field operations in the territory of our neighboring country to sweep up terrorists. Indian should engage in destroying in terrorist camps beyond the border, what ever the consequences may be.

henious act by the terrorists. There terrorists dont have any religion, no humanity. Whoever supports this act must be beheaded. Culprits must be hanged in public. Any person or any organisation or any country who are behind this henious act must be banned/attacked. This is the time for us Indians irrespective of caste, creed, religion or party to come together in one single platform and fight these terror organisations. NO ONE has the right to kill others. Stop playing politics and please come to a common plan to fight terrorism.

India has been a soft target for the terrorists for many years now. Our socalled rules are not tough enough to crush the terrorists and terrorism. Pakistan is taking full advantage of this situation and creating havoc in our country. Of late SIMI is acting on its own without the help of their mentors across the border. My piece of advice to the government: don't be lenient, be tough with the terrorists. Any action taken to curb the terrorism is not against any religion or group but only against the bad elements that are hell bent to destroy peace & unity, create chaos, maim and kill innocents. No religion advocates terrorism and every peace-loving citizens irrespective of their faith, are against this barbarism. Let's all fight this menace.
