Mangalore: DK Youth Congress Criticizes Hike in Bus Fare

Mangalore, Sep 1: The Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress Committee (DKYCC) has condemned the State government for increasing KSRTC bus fare recently.

Terming government's action as anti-people policy in its memorandum submitted to the regional control officer, KSRTC Mangalore unit on Monday September 1, DKYCC has urged transport minister R Ashok to roll back revised bus fare immediately.

It also said that government's action has put extra burden on the shoulders of laymen while they have already been experiencing draught situation in the state. "DKYCC will stage intensive protest in every block and zonal level of the district in case state government does not respond to the demand," memorandum stated.

DKYCC general secretary AC Vinayaraj, Mangalore North block president Vishwas Kumar, Mangalore South block president Sudhir TK, Mahabala Marla and others were present.
