Mangalore, Aug 30: The mortal remains of a 30-year-old youth named Rajesh reported missing since August 27, was found lying in Phalguni river besides Current Gudde here on Friday August 29.

It is reported that Rajesh, who was working at a recreation club located in Sujata Hotel here, became overly confident about the ability of the Srilankans to thrash the Indians in the fourth one-day cricket tie. Rajesh, a popular 'Huli Vesha' artiste, entered into a bet with one of his friends amounting to Rs 10 lac, betting in favour of Srilankan cricket team. In the first information lodged by Rajesh's brother Sunil after he went missing, it was stated that Rajesh had handed over Rs 7,000 to a peron named Nishant on the day of the fourth tie. India lost the tie and Rajesh went missing from the same day.

Rajesh had the ability to toss rice bags with teeth during his 'Huli Vesha' performances. Gambling proved to be his undoing. It is suspected that he committed suicide by jumping into the river, frustrated over his failure.
