Madikeri, Aug 30:
Hindu organisations activists and BJP leaders staged a protest on Friday outside Deputy Commissioner’s office condemning the killing of a VHP activist in Orissa and demanding immediately imprisonment of the culprits involved in Chettalli cattle slaughter.

The protesters opposed the move of the Christians institutions across the country which remained closed on Friday after the Orissa incident.

‘Police failed’

They said that though the police had assured that the culprits involved in the Chettalli cow slaughter issue will be arrested within 48 hours, they have failed to do so. Hence the protesters warned that the police would be responsible for the future consequences of the matter in case they manifest any lapses ion their performance.

DySP Prakash visited the protesters and said that the culprits who had thrown the head of a slain cattle in front of GP President’s residence on the Janmashtami day will be arrested soon. WIth the assurance, the protesters withdrew the protest.

They then proceeded to stage a protest outside DDPI’s office demanding him to take action against all Christian schools which had declared holiday on Friday.

BEO A Shrihar assured them that a notice will be issued to all the Christian schools which had declared holiday.
BJP President Sunil Subrmani, Taluk president Bellusomaiah and others were present.
