Mangalore: Civil Labourers Threaten to Stage Protest

Mangalore, Aug 29: The Dakshina Kannada Civil Labourers and Class IV Employees Union has threatened to stage intensive protest in case the City Corporation does not respond to their problems at the earliest.

The Union has urged the commissioner of the City Corporation to solve their various problems in a memorandum submitted here on Wednesday August 27.

The Union has noted 10 demands in memorandum including to abandon single package, to regularize 130 civil labourers as per the order from the Supreme Court, to provide site to construct Pourakarmika Kalyan Bavan at Bolur and membership in City Corporation's employees' union.

Peddanna, State president, Civil Labourers' Union Mysore, Monappa, executive committee member, K Anil Kumar union general secretary, K Suresh, district vice-president, S P Anand, district convener, DSS and N K Babu were present.
