Green Mangalore Campaign Launched in City

Mangalore, Aug 26: 'Green Mangalore' campaign was launched in the city recently. The campaign was jointly organized by Forest department, City Corporation, Citizen's Forum for Mangalore Development and St Aloysius College.

Mangalore zone forest officer Mohandas flagged-off for the Green Campaign March at Information department here. The march commenced at St Aloysius College.

Addressing the gathering, Mangalore zone forest officer Vijay Kumar Shetty said that they have plan to plant 15,000 saplings in the current year in the city and they have demanded Rs 10 lac grant from the City Corporation.

Swebert D'Souza, principal St Aloysius College, Fr Leo D'Souza, Mohandas and Citizen's Forum's Vidya Dinakar were present on the occasion.
