Udupi: PWD Reconstructs Padubidri Circle Following Local Pressure

Udupi, Aug 25: The Public Works Department (PWD) has reconstructed Ramesh Shetty Memorial circle at Padubidri junction in an overnight operation. They had demolished the same a few days ago, without any intimation in the local news media.

PWD assigned workmen, accompanied by the police, demolished the circle intersecting national highway (NH)17 and the state highway, using earth movers on the morning of Friday, August 22. However, owing to massive protests by the locals, the PWD reconstructed it on the same spot.
