Mangalore, Aug 25: A nine-member yakshagana troupe from the city will participate in the fifth AKKA convention to be held Chicago, USA from August 29.
Addressing a press conference here, Kala Prathistana president S N Panjaje said that the team will give two performances of 30 minutes duration on August 30 and 31. The team has been invited from the Indian Council for Cultural Research.
He said that the team will present 'Narakasura Vadhe' and 'Jambavathi Kalyana' episodes in Thenkuthittu style of Yakshagana. The troupe included PV Paramesh, Deepakraj Pejavar, Karunakara Shetty, Manorama, Narendra Kumar, Karthik Kordela and Bhaskar.
