Udupi: Programme on Government Facilities for Minorities at Milagres

Udupi, Aug 25: A programme on government facilities for minorities, was organized on Friday August 22,  by Udupi District Minority Forum and NSS of Milagres College, for the students and the public in the Silver Jubilee hall of the College.

Girish, district officer for backward classes and minorities, gave detailed information about various government schemes like loans, scholarships and training programmes specially meant for the benefit of the minorities. Mayya, officer in-charge of the Minority Development Corporation, gave information about various schemes of the government that are implemented  through the Minority Development Corporation.

Prof Hilda D' Silva presided. Nikitha D Souza welcomed. Stephen compered the programme. Minority Forum president Khamruddin, secretary Charles Amler, ex-president Khateeb Abdul Rashid, Walter Cyril Pinto, government nominee in the committee for programme implementation, N S S officers Dr Gerald Pinto and Rajeshwari and NSS leader Shawn Mendonca were present.
