Mangalore, Aug 25: A petty shop owner from Shaktinagar in the city named Uday Kumar(27), lost his life in an unfortunate accident near Bikarnakatte Kandettu Cross here on the morning of Sunday, August 24.
Kumar, a native of Hebri in Karkala taluk, was running a petty shop at Shaktinagar. When he was proceeding towards Nanthoor from his house in his two-wheeler, a lorry which came from behind at great speed, hit his vehicle. He lost balance and fell on the road and was fatally injured as the rear tyres of the truck crushed him. He breathed his last, before the lorry driver and another two wheeler rider could admit him into a hospital. Kumar's identity was established only after his family members arrived and recognised him.
Uday Kumar had bought the ill-fated second hand motor bike on the previous evening. Kadri police have registered a case.
