Mangaluru: First time ever in Coastalwood – two Tulu films to release on Mar 23

Mangaluru, Mar 22: For the first time in the history of Coastalwood films, two films will be releasing on the same day. ‘Appe Teacher’ and ‘Thottil’ will hit screens on March 23.

‘Appe Teacher’ is Kishore Moodbidri's direction debut and is produced by K Rathnakar Kamath under the banner of Swayam Prabha Movies and Entertainment.

Actor Sunil of television show ‘Ashwini Nakshathra’ and Niriksha Shetty from Puttur are playing the lead. The film will also star Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Sathish Bandale, Sandeep Shetty, Shailashree and others. Devdas Kapikad will also be seen in a special role.

Tulu film ‘Thottil’ is produced by Pradeep Agraar and directed by Prajwal Kumar Attavar. The film is a family entertainer with mother sentiments.

Dolvin Kolalgiri has composed the music for 'Thottil'. Kishan Nayak has handled cinematography, Avinash Poojary and Suhaas-Santhosh had choreographed the songs in the film. Story and dialogues has been written by by Prajwal Kumar Attavar.

Vijeth Suvarna will be seen as the lead actor in Coastalwood for the very first time. Surekha Bhat will play the lead actress’ role. Aravind Bolar, Umesh Mijar, Laskhmi Swaraj, Shabarish Kabbinale, Harish Shetty, Santhosh Shenoy, Akshatha Amin, Sandesh Kotian and others will be seen in pivotal roles.

The common link between both the films is the well-known Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd. While ‘Appe Teacher’ completed the dubbing process there, the mixing and the mastering of the audio of ‘Thottil’ was conducted at the same multifaceted studio.

Only time will tell which film will garner a positive response and attract film lovers to the theaters.
