Mangalore: Jo Sa Alvares' 'Aanjel' Gets New Lease of Life

Mangalore, Aug 12: The first-ever Konkani novel in Kannada script, 'Aanjel' by the late Jo Sa Alvares, has been reprinted and published by the Konkani Institute of St Aloysius College. The new edition was released recently, at a meet of the Konkani Writers’ Forum and 'Raknno' writers and readers.

Fr Swebert D’Silva, principal, St Aloysius Institutions, did the honours. The book was originally published by the Konkani Natak Sabha in 1950,
 
Newly-elected president of the Forum Marcel M D’Souza, Rtn Edwin J F D'Souza, executive director of the Institute of Konkani, writer and thinker Henry M Pernal, and Fr Francis Rodrigues, editor, 'Raknno', were present.
