Mangalore: Car, Illicit Liquor Seized, Two Arrested

Mangalore, Aug 12: The policemen belonging to Konaje police station, who intercepted car carrying illicit liquor to Kerala from Nandarapadpu area of Kairangala village, have arrested two persons and confiscated hooch valued at around Rs 1.24 lac and a Santro car used for the purpose.

The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Basheer (20) and Bridon John D'Souza (22) from Kasargod Paivalike. Principal accused Francis Daigoli however, succeeded in escaping from the spot.

Konaje sub-inspector of police A Saifulla, assistant sub-inspector Cherian and other staff participated in the operation. A total of 2,400 sachets of liquor apart from the car in which they were taken, have been taken into possession.
