Panaji, Aug 8: The website of the Department of  Education will be fully reconstructed and, apart from the legislations, it will make available all the circulars, notification, guidelines etc. issued by the Department from time to time.
 
This assurance was given to Shantaram Naik M.P. by Dr. Celsa Pinto, during his visit to the Department of Education on Thursday to make an assessment of the efficiency of the Departments website. Naik during the course of discussion with Dr. Pinto suggested that the amendments made to legislations and rules governing the education, should be immediately carried out in the website to avoid misinformation to the members of public.

Naik also suggested that the schemes of the department should be put on the website, word by word, including the prescribed forms.

Naik was accompanied by Shri Altinho Gomes, Vice Chairman of Goa Info-Tech Corporation, Shri Ulhas Parab, who operates a well known website blog and Shri Gurudas Natekar, director of Jetking Infotrain Limited.

Anil Powar, Deputy Director of  Education and Shri Tukaram Sawant, Director (Administration) were also present during the discussion.

Naik had also visited the Department of Information and had discussions with Director Shri Nikhil Desai.  Naik requested Desai to commission the website of Department of Information which has not been functioning since the time it was hacked

Desai assured Naik that the new website of the department will be a unique one giving hourly information to the people regarding activities in the state.  It will also make available precious photographs of historical relevance, taken during the visits of eminent personalities to Goa.

Naik visited Directorate of Panchayat where he discussed matters related to construction of independent website for the Directorate.  The Director of Panchayat Minino D'souza told Naik that their website material is ready and that the Department is awaiting approval of National Information Centre. Naik also visited Police Head and had interaction with Inspector General of Police Kishan Kumar regarding the Police website. Naik suggested that the map showing the jurisdiction of  Police beats should be put on the Police website and that regular press briefings of the police should also be made available on the website on the same day. Naik also met Chief Town Planner Shri Morad Ahmed and discussed with him the need to have a website for the town planning department which the department does not have at present.
