Mangalore: Truck Crushes Woman to Death

Mangalore, Aug 8: A speeding truck that hit a bike near A J Hospital at Kuntikan near here, killed the pillion rider and injured the rider on Thursday August 7 afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Asha (34) while the injured has been identified as Chandrashekhar.

Asha, a native of Charwaka in Puttur, was travelling on the motor bike driven by her husband's brother when the accident occurred. After the truck hit their bike, Asha, who was riding pillion, was thrown on to the road. Before she could recover, the truck passed on her, crushing her to death on the spot.

Kadri police have registered a case and handed over investigation to the policemen of the Traffic East police station.

Asha's husband Sundar is working as a security staff in a company located in Suratkal and had rented a house at Hosabettu. The lady was moving towards Hosabettu when an accident snatched away her life.
