Mangalore: BIG 92.7 FM Launches R J Hunt in City

Mangalore, Aug 6: BIG 92.7 FM is hosting the 'BIG RJ Hunt' in the city, in association with Empire Mall, from August 8 to 17. This week-long programme is being organized as a part of the Empire Mall Carnival.

BIG 92.7 FM is, apart from using various mediums, like social networking sites and putting up posters across colleges or through SMS, will also be pressing an OB bus into service, which will target areas where educational institutions are located, collecting applications from the desirous youngsters. The first round of short-listing will take place on August 9 at Empire Mall, a release stated.

A total of only 20 candidates from across the city will be short-listed during the first round. These 20 participants will get to co-host Big Kudla, Churumari, Mangalore Bandi and Song Both and solicit votes from the listeners.

Based on the SMS received, the top 15 participants will fight it out in the grand finale to be held on August 16. Two among these will eventually become RJs with BIG 92.7 FM.

Speaking about the event, Hemanth Ponnappa, station head said, "Through the BIG Talent Hunt, we are looking for youngsters who are skillful, verbally-talented and confident and have a good ear for music. We believe the city has rich talent and all that these youngsters require, is a platform to express themselves, which we are offering. This is definitely a move in the right direction for those aspiring for a career as a RJ."
