Mangalore: Monsoon Weakens in Coastal Districts

Mangalore, Aug 2: The intensity of monsoon has weakened, with the city receiving the least rain in the district (4.12 mm). Uppinangady and Subrahmanya recorded highest rainfall of nine cms each. It is expected that rains will be moderate on Saturday August 2 too. Bantwal and Puttur received about 3 cms of rain each, with Sullia registering a rainfall of 2.l2 cms, Uppingangady 5.34 cms and Beltangady 3.9 cms.

The water-level in the Thumbe reservoir supplying water to Mangalore city has also gone down by about two feet since a day, to 17.6 ft.
