Puttur: NRI Couple's Vacation Ends in Tragedy - Wife Dies in Accident

Puttur, Aug 2: After a tree got uprooted owing to heavy rain and speeding gales near a petrol bunk in Nellyadi near here on a passing motor bike on Friday August 1, Meghamolu (25) who was riding the pillion along with her husband died on the spot.

Jeni Jacob of Nellyadi Vadakatelu House was going back home from Nellyadi town with his wife Meghamolu, when the incident occurred. A huge acacia tree fell on the motor bike as he rode along the road near St George PU College. Jeni Jacob is working as an engineer in Dubai while Meghamolu worked as senior nurse. They had come to their native place on a month's leave and were to return to Dubai on Saturday August 2.
