Udupi: Sene Seeks Action against Lorry Owners

The Hindu

Udupi, Aug 2: The Udupi district unit of Sri Rama Sene on Friday urged the district administration to take immediate action against the alleged movement of overloaded ore-laden lorries during day-time.

Addressing presspersons here, convener of the district unit of the sene Rajesh Yermal said that overloaded ore-laden lorries were plying on the National Highway 17 during day-time, although the district administration had restricted their movement to nights. This was a clear violation of the order, he added.

The movement of these lorries was creating a lot of hardship for people. The number of road accidents had increased in recent past. Should the administration fail to take action in 15 days, an agitation would be launched, Mr. Yermal said.

This is really a good cause Sri Ram Sene is fighting for. Wish them all the best. These ore laden lorries have destroyed the roads and have become dangerous for people travelling on roads.
