Uppinangady, Aug 1: After a truck carrying timber overturned at Jambuhole on Shiradi ghat stretch of the national highway 48 on Thursday July 31 night, vehicular traffic between Mangalore and Bangalore was affected. Buses from Bangalore reached Mangalore several hours behind schedule.
A similar accident at Gundya had blocked the ghat road on Wednesday July 30 night too and many buses had taken the Charmadi ghat route to reach Bangalore from Mangalore. Traffic had been held up for about five hours then.
