Mangalore: Monsoon Continues to be Active in Coastal Region

Mangalore, Jul 28: Monsoon continued to be active in the coastal region during the last 24 hours. Many areas in the state received good rains, with Agumbe topping the chart with a rainfall of 14 cms. Gerusoppa, where the major hydel power plant of the state located, received 13 cms of rain.

Kollur accounted for nine cms of rain, Puttur and Karkala got eight cms each while Mulki and Dharmasthala got seven cms each. Udupi and Moodbidri got six cms each while Mangalore received about three cms of rain.

The meteorological department has predicted heavy rains in coastal and ghat regions during the next 24 hours.
