Mangalore: Vijaya College NCC Cadets Observe Kargil Day

‘Patriotism should be nurtured by remembering the sacrifices of our brave soldiers who fought wars in order for us to enjoy freedom,’ said Bharatan, retired soldier of Indian Army and senior manager of Canara Bank, on Saturday, July 26.
 
He was addressing the gathering during ‘Kargil Day’ celebrations organized by the students of National Cadet Corps (NCC), belonging to army and navy wings of Vijaya College, Mulky. Army training is essential for all as it instills discipline, timeliness, and patriotism.  It’s the duty of everyone to love our country as we love our parents, asserted Bharatan.
 
Prof Arvind Joshi, principal, Vijaya College, presided over the programme. Lieutenant Narayan Shetty, NCC officer (army), and Lieutenant H G Nagaraj Nayak (navy) were present on the dais.
 
Supreet welcomed the gathering while Varun Shetty, cadet captain, introduced the guests.
