SC seeks Centre's response on SIT probe into Kulburgi murder

New Delhi, Jan 10 (IANS): The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a response from the Centre on a plea by Uma Devi, the widow of rationalist M.M. Kalburgi, seeking a SIT probe into his murder.

Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud sought the response as Uma Devi demanded a coordinated probe in the killings of Kalburgi, Govind Pansare and Narendra Dobhalkar as the circumstance surrounding them were the same.

Kalburgi was killed on August 30, 2015 in Dharwad in Karnataka and Uma Devi has alleged that the probe by the Karnataka Police had not made any headway.

Uma Devi said the SIT must be headed by a retired judge of the apex court or a High Court. The notice has also been issued to the Central Bureau of Investigation, the National Investigation Agency and the Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa governments.

5 years and no leads ??? Mr. Siddu ? I know you were sleeping in the Cong event in Madikeri. It's ironical, where ever these rationalists were killed, Congress was in power. whether it was Maharastra or Karnataka where Gauri Lankesh was murdered , the clear suspicion points towards Congress and communists. How come Congress can spin all wild stories of Saffron terror , implicate without any proof Sadhvis and Colonels but can't find the murderers in their own rules states. Somehow they wanted to put the blame again on Right wingers by carefully choosing these so called intelectuals who were against BJP or RSS. But everything is crumbling down . One thing is coming out of all this fiasco: Congress can even kill their own people who stand by them even for their nefarious designs.

Dr Kalburgi's wife did not file case into SC. its state Govt which is acting behind her. because they want to kill the time, they know for sure they have failed to nab the culprits. And hence want to invite Central Govt to take the case. But after 2 years what evidences will CBI or SIT or NIA will get in the probe? Whatever was available was let to erase or sabotaged to give twist to the case. Fact is current state Govt has failed to give justice to Kalburgi & Gauri families.
