Mangaluru: Daijiworld TV's 'Kapikad's Comedy World' episode joins 'one million club' on YouTube

Mangaluru, Jan 10: One of the most watched channels in coastal Karnataka, the city’s own Daijiworld 24x7, has been telecasting programmes with a dash of local flavours. A variety of programmes in Tulu, Konkani and Kannada have been entertaining people from over three-and-a-half years now.

Comedy has been one of the essentials in the entertainment programmes of coastal Karnataka. In what one can call a very rare achievement, ‘Kapikad’s Comedy World’, a rib-tickling comedy programme telecast on Daijiworld24x7 television channel, has garnered more than a million views on video-sharing website YouTube.

It is a rare honour for a Tulu TV show, where a single episode has recorded over one million views on Daijiworld's YouTube channel.

The trio of the well-known stars coastal Karnataka Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor created a laughter riot with ‘Kapikad’s Comedy World’. The show gained popularity since its first episode. ‘Baduku Pidk Bandy’, one of the episodes of the show, remains one of the finest and memorable comedy performances of the trio.

Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor who started performing in dramas, went on to act in multilingual cinemas later and are presently one of the most sought after stars of Coastalwood. Viewers of Tulu entertainment programmes, be it TV shows or films, want to see the trio together.


Second Season

The public demand and the viewership of ‘Kapikad’s Comedy World’ on YouTube have paved the way for the second season of the show. Millions of Tuluvas and fans all over coastal Karnataka will soon be able to see the funny trio together.

"It is a matter of great honour for us that our Tulu comedy shows are widely accepted across the world by Tulu fans. We are indebted to our fans, and assure to give more entertainment in the coming days," says Devdas Kapikad speaking to daijiworld. Though he is busy with movie schedules, he has promised that a second season of 'Kapikad's Comedy World' is all set for recording.

Bojaraj Vamnajoor, an ace comedy artiste who created his own identity in Tulu theatre and cinema is excited to know that Daijiworld TV's single video has reached more than a million views. "This will encourage us to do more TV shows for Daijiworld TV," he says.

Apart from this one episode, other episodes also recorded tremendous viewership on Youtube.

Daijiworld 24x7 will soon announce the details of the show for which the preparations are in final stages. The second season of ‘Kapikad’s Comedy World’ will feature non-stop comedy alongside addressing social issues in a humourous way. The deadly chemistry between the trio of Devdas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor is sure to tickle some funny bones.
