Udupi Court Rejects Atul Rao’s Bail Plea

DHNS

Udupi, Jul 22: District and Session Court Judge K N Phaneendra, on Monday, rejected the bail plea of Atul Rao, who has been arrested in connection with the death of MLA Raghupathy Bhat’s wife Padmapriya.

Padmapriya was found dead in an apartment in Delhi.

The bail was rejected on the grounds of safety of the accused, citing the example of the one Gopi who was shot dead soon after he came out on bail in the Ronny murder case in 2005.

The Court observed that Atul will be safe in the judicial custody than outside

Disgusting. Safety of Atul Rao!!! Another melodrama in the chain of events. If at all Atul is granted a bail - the pandora's box will open up.

Is this the way the Judiciary is supposed to give verdicts on a bail plea, unless specifically requested to be in Jail by Atul Rao? We all know that he would be silenced/finished by the politician/crime mafia soon as he must be knowing a lot of “secrets” of MLA.

There are many builders / financiers who have constant threat on life from rivalries / competitors & who may be safe in Judicial custody. So, will this Judge send them to Judicial custody for life time? This is the limit how judiciary can be stupid in India. I am not a lawyer , but would like to know from experts if any new law has come in India to keep the people involved in any fabricated charges to be under Judicial custody for life time?
