Udupi: Watchman’s Murder - Accused Remanded to Judicial Custody

Udupi, Jul 21: After Shivappa, who has been accused of committing the murder of Dendurkatte Ramesh (45) who was working as a watchman of a house in Chitpadi here, was produced at the residence of the chief judicial magistrate in the city on Sunday July 20, the accused was remanded to judicial custody till August 4.

As per the police version, Ramesh was involved with an illicit affair with Seethavva. Owing to this very reason, Shivappa, Seethavva's husband, used to pick up quarrel with Ramesh frequently. Another person who assisted Shivappa in the gory act, has fled and not been found so far.

The police had arrested Shivappa from Hiremagi of Hungund taluk and interrogated him about the murder. As it has become clear that Seethavva had no role in the murder plot, no steps have been initiated against her, the police clarified.
