Udupi, Jul 18: Seetha from Ilkal in Bagalkot district and her husband Rajappa have been taken into custody by the police, in connection with the murder of watchman Ramesh from Dendurkatte, whose body was found in pool of blood at a house at Chitpady here on Wednesday July 16.

Seetha, a woman belonging to Lambani tribe, used to visit Ramesh often. It is said that Ramesh once had beaten up her husband. Suspecting the reason for the watchman's murder to be related to his illicit relationship, the police started investigations and found Seetha's whereabouts by calling her on her mobile phone.

A police team which went to Bagalkot in search of the culprits is coming back to the city after arresting them. The couple is said to have gone to Bagalkot by bus, after killing Ramesh. The police are confident that they have cracked the case and said, they would reveal full details in a couple of days.

The policemen had also questioned a few friends of Ramesh who used to play cards with him here.
