Mangalore: Lions District Cabinet Installation on July 19

Mangalore, Jul 18: Addressing media persons at a press conference held here recently, governor of Lions District 324 D5 K Mohan Kamath informed that the district cabinet to be headed by him will be installed at a ceremony to be held at Dr T M A Pai International Convention Centre in the city on Saturday July 19.

Former governor of the club Dr M Shantaram Shetty will administer the oath of office at a function scheduled to start at 4 pm at the said venue. ICICI Bank managing director and chief executive officer K V Kamath will be the chief guest. K V Kamath will also be felicitated on the occasion. Kamath also said, that vice-district governor Alwyn Patric Patrao will release the district directory at the ceremony.

Giving details about the activities undertaken by the club, he said the club arranged for free cataract operations for the needy every year, a programme conducted in association with other Lions Clubs of the district. The club also conducts health camps, AIDS awareness camps, de-addiction camps, providing homes for the homeless etc.,

The governor said, he plans to hold 'Quest' programme in more than 500 schools and colleges, AIDS awareness camps, screening camps, rehabilitation of the disabled and providing vocational training to them. All the clubs will participate in environment awareness programme, actively take part in Vanamahotsava programmes, organizing liquor de-addiction camps etc.,

Vice-district governor Alwyn Patric Patrao, installation committee chairman Dr M Santosh K Shastri and PRO Ramdas Kamath were present at the press conference.
