Mangaluru, Dec 20: Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike staged a protest near DC’s office on Wednesday, December 20, condemning the death of Paresh Mesta from Honnavar.

Addressing the protestors, VHP district president Jagadish Shenava said, "An innocent 21- year-old Paresh Mesta was killed by miscreants with Jihadi mindset. His postmortem report stated that it was a normal death. This is a fake report. We demand a second postmortem.”

“Do not think that Hindu community is coward. We are capable enough to retaliate, but we will not. We demand justice for Paresh and his family. Close to 20 Hindu activists have been brutally hacked to death and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is supporting these murders. We demand the arrest of the culprits at the earliest,” he said.

"Priyanka from Moodbidiri has become a victim of ‘Love Jihad’ and has gone missing. It has been 10 days and police are not making any efforts to trace her. Priyanka should be found within Sunday or else we will show our agitation at Moodbidiri,” he warned.

Former MLC Monappa Bhandary said, "Our country is developing, but our state is stagnant as Siddaramaiah is dozing off. Siddaramaiah has favoured only one section of the society. So far 20 Hindu activists have been murdered, but no action has been taken. Organisations such as PFI, SDPI and KFD have the guts to even enter government offices. If you have enough courage, then ban PFI, KFD and SDPI. If you are not capable enough, then handover the responsibility to Hindu youths who will clear them form the society.”

RSS leader Dr Vaman Shenoy said, "The government is trying to close the cases in the state by favoring only one section of the society. Law should be equal to everyone and justice should be provided. The government has handed over Paresh’s case to CBI, but we demand an NIA probe into the case.”

Zilla panchayat vice-president Kasturi Panja, Bajrang Dal district convenor Bujanga Kulal, Sathyajith Surathkal and others were present.
