Udupi: Yakshagana Artiste Harady Mahabala Ganiga No More

Udupi, Jul 14: Senior Yakshagana artiste Harady Mahabala Ganiga died after brief illness at Kundapur in Udupi district on Sunday. He was 75.

He was an artiste of the Badagathittu school of Yakshagana. He was associated with Yaksharanga ballet of the Jnanpith awardee Kota Shivaram Karnath for two decades. He was famous for playing the “Kirata Vesha” and “Jodu Mundasu Vesha”. He also trained many students. The Yakshagana Kalaranga organisation of Udupi has condoled the death of Harady Mahabala Ganiga.
