Sullia: Road Inconvinience Causes Brawl - One dead

Sullia, July 12: A brawl with regard to the inconvenience caused by a halted vehicle on the road, has resulted in the death of a person, in Yerukadapu, Sampaje. The deceased has been identified as Gopal (49), a resident of Kaadupanja.  

The incident took place when a car belonging to Ravishankar Bhat, Madikeri, encountered problems and stopped on the Yerukadapu road, much to the inconvenience of Gopal, who was on his way in his jeep, accompanied by his friend. Soon verbal abuses were made following exchange of blows between Gopal and Ravishankar. Sridhar Madepal and Manjunath, from Ravishankar's side, also rushed to the spot and joined the party. In the process, Gopal was severely injured. His condition continued to deteriorate even as they were heading towards the police station. He was rushed to the Sampaje Hospital where he breathed his last.  

The accused are absconding. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the hospital demanding search of the accused and apt action to be taken against them. Madikeri MLA Boiappa, and police officers, visited the spot.
