Bangalore: Newly-inducted Ministers get Portfolios

Bangalore, Jul 12: State chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has completed the task of allotting portfolios to the newly-inducted ministers Balachandra Jarkiholi, Shivanagouda Naik and Anand Asnotikar on Friday, July 11.

Minister Suresh Kumar has been divested of the department of civic administration. He continues to hold law and urban development departments. Public instruction and library departments have been taken away from primary education minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri to make room for the new ministers. Fisheries and small savings department were taken away from Krishna J Palemar. However, he has been given additional charge of environment and bio-science departments in addition to the ports and inland transport portfolios he still holds.

Balachandra Jarkiholi has got civic administration and public sector enerprises portfolios. Anand Asnotikar has been vested with fisheries, science and technology departments with library, mass education, small savings and lottery portfolios going to Shivanagouda Naik.
