Hearing in Babri Mosque Demolition Case on Jul 11

Rae Bareli, Jul 11: A special court will hear the Babri mosque demolition case here on Friday.

The deposition of a witness of the case Aslam is scheduled to take place on Friday. The deposition of two of the three witnesses has been over.

Besides senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders L.K Advani, Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi and Vinay Katiyar, Bharatiya Janshakti Party leader Uma Bharati, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders Ashok Singhal, Acharya Giriraj Kishore and Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, and Sadhvi Ritambhara are the eight accused facing trial in the matter.

In September 2003, a Rae Bareli court had quashed charges against Advani while deciding to proceed against the other seven persons.

The demolition of the 16th century mosque in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, triggered a nationwide communal frenzy.
