Value buying, global cues lift equity indices


Mumbai, Dec 13 (IANS): Value buying along with positive global markets lifted the key equity indices during the afternoon trade session on Wednesday.

According to industry observers, healthy buying as witnessed in interest sensitive stocks -- banking, auto and capital goods -- and consumer durables companies' scrip.

At 12.00 p.m., the wider Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) traded higher by 46.70 points or 0.46 per cent at 10,286.85 points.

The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 33,229.73 points, traded at 33,360.31 points -- up 132.32 points or 0.40 per cent -- from Tuesday's close.

The Sensex touched a high of 33,380.64 points and a low of 33,123.44 points during the intra-day trade so far.

The BSE market breadth was bullish as 1,362 stocks advanced against a decline of 1,025 scrips.
