Now, SC/STs in Delhi can apply for employment loan via app

New Delhi, Dec 9 (IANS): The Delhi government will launch a mobile application on Saturday through which Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, minorities, and handicapped persons can apply for employment loans, SC and ST Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam said here on Friday.

The mobile application will be launched by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at a function here on Saturday evening.

The minister also said that inefficient officers, who do not process the loans on time, will be forced to take compulsory retirement.

Loans under Delhi Self-employment Scheme can be applied through the app and Gautam said the current process by which the loans were sanctioned was caught in red tape.

A person can apply for loan through the app and the applicant can know about the decision on its approval in a month's time.

If the application is rejected, the officer will have to clarify on what grounds it was rejected.

If an officer does not complete the formalities in a week, the file will be transferred to his superior officer and the inefficiency will be marked in the officer's service book, the minister said.

Efficiency of the officers will be measured through data from the app for taking further action.

Also, students who want to apply for various vocational courses can do it via the app, the Minister said.
