Aarushi Murder: Were the Talwars Partying that Night?

NEW DELHI, Jul 7: The mysterious murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar continues to rattle the brains of investigators, as they have found that the Talwar couple was not present at home on the night their daughter was slaughtered to death.

The recent line of investigation is not being probed without proof, as during the course of questioning of Nupur and Rajesh Talwar’s friends, the sleuths have found that around a dozen rooms were booked in a south Delhi hotel and the couple was partying there until the early hours of May 16.

Although investigators haven’t yet started talking about this new information openly, the reservation register of the hotel is being checked to find out the names and numbers of people who had booked the rooms on the intervening night of May 15-16 when Aarushi was murdered in her Noida home.

Sleuths have maintained that the Talwar couple’s answers during the questioning have not matched with the events of the tragic night when they lost their daughter.

Among the friends who have been traced and questioned in the course of the investigations are members of the business community, doctors and some of the top editors in the media. “We have made certain findings and we are trying to establish them,” said a senior CBI official.

The agency has been tracing and questioning the friends of Nupur and Rajesh Talwar, and some clients of the dentists have also been questioned to learn about their movements and public dealings.

The CBI has formed more than 25 separate teams that are investigating the different aspects of the case. Friends of Aarushi have also been questioned several times because the sleuths wanted to know if she was having a strained relationship with her parents
